Access Statement

We hope the following information will ensure your stay will be a comfortable and enjoyable one, please contact us if you have any questions regarding the suitability of the apartments for your needs.

Introduction
We have 3 holiday cottages on what was once a working farm, please note we have slopes, steps and split levels in and around the cottages. Les Nicolles Farm is accessed by a tarmac driveway.

We have no specific disabled facilities, we would not advise the use of a wheelchair within the apartments due to manoeuvrability issues.

Pre-arrival
Enquires and bookings can be made by email or telephone, at that time please inform us of any special requirements (for example if you require synthetic pillows). Directions to Les Nicolles Farm can be found on our website. We are 5.6 km (14 mins) away by car from St. Peter Port harbour and 1.3 km (3 mins) by car from the airport. Taxis are available at both locations and a bus service is available which brings you to within a 5 minute walk of the apartments.

Guernsey has ‘low-floor’ buses which are designed to carry disabled passengers and have kneeling suspension, they are fully accessible for the vast majority of wheelchair users.

Nearest bus stop, garage and shopping outlets
The nearest bus stop is 300m away at the top of the road.

The nearest garage (Forest Road Garage) is 400m up the lane along the main road and contains a mini market.

There is a Co-op, Iceland and Marks and Spencer in St Martins Village along with a post office, pharmacy and doctor's surgery, bank and assorted other small retail outlets which is 2.6km away, there is also a local shop (Forest Stores), 1.2km away which also has a post office.

Arrival and car parking facilities 
Please report to the main house, there are three steps leading down to the front door, ring the bell so we can check you in and show you around the various facilities. There is off-road parking on site and luggage/passengers may be dropped off outside or close by each apartment. Assistance with luggage can be provided if necessary, it would be useful if we received advance notice of your estimated arrival time to aid with check in procedures.

The carpark is hard surface and the spaces are clearly marked out (there is no specific allocation for the apartments) and parking is located off road, there is a sign for Visitors Parking on the stable wall to direct you.

Pool
Details of the pool specifications and Pool Safety Operationg Procedures (PSOP) can be located in the visitor guide in your apartment and in the pool room. Please note there is no grab rail to gain access down the steps into or out of the pool and the tiles in the kitchen area may be slippery when wet so care must be taken when walking to and from the pool with bare feet. Laundry
Accessed by one step with a granite stone floor, our laundry room accommodates a stainless steel sink, standard height kitchen units with laminate work tops, a washing machine, drier (both front loading).

Gardens
Gardens are extensive and in places undulating, care must be taken if exploring them as there are various stone steps and steep paths leading to the green lane which takes walkers to Petit Bot.

Additional information
There is limited mobile phone reception due to the proliferation of granite contained in the buildings, no free phone access is available, there is free wi-fi available which utilises a booster box contained in each apartment, please don’t turn off.

Our apartments
Two are ground floor, all lounge and bedroom areas are carpeted or wooden laminate flooring, bathrooms and porch/entrance hall areas are tiled. All kitchen work top units are standard height, in the case of La Tcherterie extra care must be taken entering and exiting the apartment as the door is not standard height and the bedroom is located in the eaves. No baths available, only overhead showers, we do not provide hoist facilities or grab rails. Smoke alarms are present in each, there is no emergency lighting but a torch is provided in case of a power cut.

La Cotte Studio Apartment
This apartment is accessed either across gravel or down two steps around the back of the property. There are no steps leading into the apartment, which consists of a tiled porch area then carpeted bed sitting area. There is a step up to where the wardrobe is located. The galley style kitchen diner is accessed by one step down which then leads to the bathroom (also tiled) with low threshold shower tray.

L'Etable Cottage
This apartment is accessed across a tarmac drive, there is one step leading into the tiled porch and a further step leading into the carpeted lounge area, a further step leads up to the galley kitchen which is tiled. The bedroom is carpeted, the bathroom is tiled and the shower cubicle has a curbed shower tray.

La Tcherterie
This apartment is accessed across gravel, please note that due to its former use (it was a cart shed for storing farm equipment) care must be taken entering and exiting the building as the doorway is not standard height and the bedroom ceiling is lower at one side as it is in the eaves. The entrance hall is tiled and there is a winding carpeted stairway leading up to a small landing and bedroom (also carpeted) and bathroom (laminate floor), the shower cubicle has a curbed shower tray. The kitchen area is tiled whilst the lounge diner is wooden laminate flooring.
